We do use cookies and web analytics to help us make the website as easy for you to use as possible. Please see our privacy and cookies policy for more information.
1.3 Accuracy of content. We aim to make the content of our website and scheme information leafets accurate and up to date. If you do find any inaccuracies or errors, please email us at info@epplus.org.uk.

2. Collective buying through Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme
2.1 Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme offers customers the opportunity to register with us so that we can approach the energy market collectively. By joining together and negotiating as a group, we aim to get a better deal from the energy market on your behalf.
2.2 There is no charge for registering or any obligation to accept any deals negotiated.
2.3 When we have enough people signed up we will work with our switching partners energyhelpine to negotiate with energy suppliers the best gas and electricity deals they are prepared to offer our customers. Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme has no relationship with any existing energy supplier and will endeavour to select the deal(s) on the basis of whether they represent good value for customers. We will aim to be transparent about the selection process and basis of our decision. Our decision is likely to take customer service standards and flexibility of payment options into account as well as price.
2.4 Once we have negotiated a deal, we will get back in touch by email, post and/or phone to tell you more about the deal(s) we have negotiated and how much you could typically save each year and whether they include other benefits like cashbacks. We will also let you know how long you have to accept the offer.
2.5 At this point our specialist switching partner – energyhelpline – will need a little more information from you about your current gas and electricity tariffs, and usage over the last year. All that information is available through your fuel bills but you don’t need to provide it until you have seen the deal and decided you are potentially interested.
2.6 Based on your personal circumstances, energyhelpline will provide advice and guidance on whether the Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme offer is right for you. But it is entirely your responsibility to check the details of the offer and verify that it is preferable to the contract you currently have for gas and/or electricity.
2.7 Whether you accept the offer or not is completely up to you. By registering with Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme you are only requesting for an offer to be made to you and are in no way committing to accepting any offer that we send to you. We want to help you to save money and recognise that a deal(s) we negotiate may not be the best available for every specific household.
2.8 If you decide to switch your electricity and/or gas supply, the process will be facilitated by energyhelpine and the new agreement will be between you and the new supplier. Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme is not an energy supply company and has no control over the switching process. Any problems with the switching process are the responsibility of your new and existing energy suppliers and Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme will take no responsibility for resolving issues that may arise.
2.9 Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme has been set up by Energy Projects Plus with support from Local Authorities. This has enabled us to develop and provide a free collective buying service for registered users. Income will be generated from selected energy supplier(s) who pay a commission for each customer who switches to them. This income is firstly used to cover the costs of administrating the switching process (i.e. energyhelpine costs) with any additional income set aside by the scheme partners to enable Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme to run again in future.
2.10 If we do repeat the Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme again in future, people already signed up would be actively asked if they wish to re-register. Those who have already switched supplier by accepting a previous Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme deal may be ineligible to sign up again for a limited period of time.
2.11 Liverpool City Region Collective Switching Scheme reserves the right to remove registered users from our database should we think that they are bringing our scheme into disrepute or behaving in a manner which may undermine our efforts to achieve the best possible electricity and gas deals for the collective group.
